Andre Green make his first league start for Aston Villa on Saturday.
Aston Villa youngster Andre Green has taken to Twitter to send a message to supporters after making his first league start for the club in Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Preston North End.
Villa hosted Preston on Saturday afternoon, and were hoping to close the gap on the play-offs places with a victory – and when Albert Adomah scored two first-half goals, it looked like they were on course for all three points.

However, North End roared back after the break as Jordan Hugill scored twice to give Preston a share of the spoils in a superb fightback in the second half.
Villa fans will be disappointed to see their side collapse, but will be delighted to have seen winger Andre Green make his first league start for the club.

Green, 18, has come up through the ranks at Villa Park having joined the club back in 2006, and had made substitute appearances for the club having shown real promise in recent months.
Green played the full 90 minutes at Villa Park, starting on the left hand side of midfield and showing some nice link-up play with Jordan Amavi, though he did miss a great chance to score as he headed wide from close range when he should have at least hit the target.
After allowing youth products like Daniel Johnson, Callum Robinson and Jordan Graham to leave the club, Villa will be hoping to see Green become a star in the future, and he took to Twitter after the final whistle to send a message to fans.
Green admitted that he was happy to have made his first start for the club, and thanked the fans for making it a special afternoon – even if it was only a point for Villa rather than the three they wanted.
Fans also took to Twitter to respond to Green, praising him for an excellent performance whilst backing him to fulfil his huge potential and become a major first-team player with Villa in the future, having impressed so much against Preston on Saturday.
