Andre Green has taken to Twitter in the wake of yet another frustrating result for Aston Villa as a late goal meant they were forced to settle for a draw against Brentford on Wednesday night.

Roberto Di Matteo’s men went into the clash with the Bees looking for only their second win of the campaign. And they got off to an excellent start as summer signing Jonathan Kodjia opened the scoring inside the first 20 minutes.

It appeared that they were set to secure the three points as the game entered the final three minutes of normal time with Villa still ahead.

However, John Egan equalised for the away side to ensure that the clash ended in a draw, leaving the home supporters to voice their displeasure at the full-time whistle.

Much of the discontent will have surely come after watching their side concede yet another late goal. Egan’s strike was the fifth that the Villans have let in in the final 10 minutes of games this term.

Without the late goals – Villa were also denied a win against Nottingham Forest at the weekend due to an 87th minute strike – Di Matteo’s men would be fourth in the table currently.

Unsurprisingly therefore, Andre Green – who was unused substitute against Brentford – voiced his annoyance at the result, but insisted that they must not dwell on the disappointment.
