Andre Green is struggling for playing time at Preston.

Preston North End are out of the Carabao Cup after a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night, and that may be another blow for winger Andre Green.
Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and David Silva scored to give City the win and a spot in the fourth round, though Preston notably fielded a weakened side.
Alex Neil chose to rest Patrick Bauer, Andrew Hughes, Ben Pearson, Paul Gallagher, Billy Bodin and Seani Maguire ahead of Saturday’s game against Bristol City, rotating much of his side.
Despite that decision, winger Green not only didn’t start, but didn’t even come off the bench for Preston as he struggles for playing time at Deepdale.
The 21-year-old joined North End on loan last month, being landed as a replacement for Callum Robinson following his move to Sheffield United, but he’s barely playing.
His last appearance came on August 31st at Nottingham Forest, which was as a substitute, meaning he hasn’t played at all in September, with Preston playing three times.

Green wasn’t even in the squad in the 1-0 win at Birmingham City last weekend, and when Neil wanted to bring on a winger against City, he went for Josh Ginnelly over Green.
That has to be a major concern for Green himself and Villa, who were hoping to see the wide man pick up valuable playing time and first-team experience with Preston.
Neil’s regular rotation in attack means he can never be ruled out of contention, but it’s clearly not going to plan for him right now, as he sits on the Preston sidelines waiting for his opportunity.
