Andre Green has taken to Twitter to open up about the frustrating spell that he has had to endure as he looks to come back from another hamstring injury – but his message has received the backing of the Aston Villa fans.

The 19-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest talents currently coming through at Villa Park, but injury has plagued much of his campaign so far with the Express and Star reporting that he had to undergo surgery on his hamstring back in September.

He returned for the FA Cup clash with Peterborough at the start of January, but is yet to make a further appearance for the side with the Express and Star also reporting that he suffered another hamstring injury – this time, on the other leg – earlier this month.

And Green has now taken to Twitter to provide an update on his fitness. And while the teenager did not provide a timescale for how long he expects to remain sidelined for, he did suggest that he plans to take a cautious approach regarding his comeback.

For the fans, it has probably been almost as frustrating a spell as it has been for Green. The Villa supporters have had plenty to smile about this term, but their push for automatic-promotion would arguably be even sweeter if they had yet another academy prospect featuring fairly regularly for Bruce’s side, as Green threatened to before his first injury.

But the fans are clearly determined to be as patient as the youngster currently is, as many replied to Green’s tweet suggesting that it is the right decision to take his time and make sure that he is fully fit before he comes back.
