Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne were both brought in at Everton this summer, and have made bright starts at Goodison Park.

Gomes had a difficult spell at Barcelona, and always looked likely to move on this summer, with Everton one of a number of clubs interested.
The Portuguese midfielder had a tough choice over picking which team to join, but after speaking to Neville and Digne he felt that Goodison Park was the right place for him.
“Marco was very important for me – the way he spoke to me and the confidence he gave me. I spoke with him a few times before I made the decision,” Gomes said.
“I spoke with Phil Neville, too. I am good friends with him from my time at Valencia, and he played here and he knew how the club works.
“I spoke to Lucas Digne, too. He played with me in Barcelona, he signed two or three weeks before me and he gave me information about the club and the facilities.

Gomes actually made a slow start at Everton, but he has begun to prove his worth now.
The 25-year-old has broken into Everton’s team in recent weeks, following an injury, and he has caught the eye.
Although Everton were unable to beat Manchester United in their most recent outing, Gomes still put in a performance which earned him plaudits.
Gomes now looks set to start in Everton’s next match, which comes against Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow.
