Phil Jagielka is free to find a new club after spending 12 years with Everton at Goodison Park.
Andre Gomes and Sylvain Distin have both sent heartfelt messages to Phil Jagielka, following his departure from Everton.
Jagielka did not sign a new contract at Everton, leaving him free to find another club at the end of the season.
The exit ends Jagielka’s 12 year stay at Goodison Park, and tributes flooded in for the centre back on social media yesterday.
Both Gomes and Distin sent messages to the Everton man, who they have both been teammates with during his time on Merseyside.
Distin and Jagielka formed a rock solid partnership at Everton when they were both playing together.
Gomes had less time with the England international, but was clearly still a big fan of the defender.
Whether Gomes will follow Jagielka out of the exit door at Everton remains to be seen.
The Portuguese international’s loan spell with the Toffees has now expired, but Marco Silva’s side are trying to sign him on a permanent deal.
