Hammers star Andre Ayew spoke to the club’s official website after he scored the equaliser for his side during their 1-1 draw at Watford yesterday, and explained how the Hornets made it hard for them to play their usual game.
West Ham would have felt hard done by for the second Premier League game in a row, after failing to win the match having dominated proceedings during the second-half.
Slaven Bilic’s side have made huge strides over the past two months, and now, with pretty much a full compliment of players to choose from, the Croatian will feel confident of guiding his side to a top eight finish.
And Ayew, 27, shared his happiness with his side’s second-half performance, whilst admitting that Walter Mazzarri’s team made things very difficult for the Hammers in the first-half, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“I think in the first half they got control of the ball, they put us under pressure and we couldn’t really play our game. In the second half we managed to come out and play how we know how to play. It’s a fair result – they had the first half and we had the second. It was a tough game, this is the Premier League. We just need to keep working hard and hopefully we’ll get the results we want.”

The result took West Ham to ninth in the table, which highlights their improvement from earlier on in the campaign, although they are a distant seven points adrift of eighth placed West Bromwich Albion.
But with the likes of Ayew back and firing on all cylinders, West Ham are in a good position to mount a sustained push for the final Europa League spot.
