Anderson Silva is preparing to start a new career path at 50, but he is not quite ready to walk away from fighting just yet.

Back in October 2020, Silva was forced to retire from the UFC after losing to Uriah Hall. But the Brazilian legend was not quite done with fighting and eventually found his way into the boxing ring, where he picked up a few wins before facing Jake Paul.

Three years after that bout, he stepped back into the ring tonight and knocked out Tyron Woodley in brutal fashion. He dropped Woodley in round two before the fight was stopped, then called for a third meeting with Chris Weidman.

Silva, who turned 50 in April, put on a performance that was nothing short of remarkable against Tyron Woodley, finishing the fight with a knockout that reminded everyone of his prime years.

Following the win, ‘Spider’ spoke to Ariel Helwani and revealed he plans to join the Beverly Hills Police Department by entering their Police Academy.

“I’ll keep doing it,” Silva said during his post-fight interview.

“I go back to work right now and start my Police Academy at Beverly Hills PD.”

Having moved to California from Brazil almost two decades ago during the peak of his UFC career, the MMA legend now aims to “give back” to the community he has since adopted.

In that same interview, Silva expressed his desire to finally get his shot at revenge against Chris Weidman. The two were scheduled for a trilogy bout last November when Jake Paul was lined up to fight Gervonta Davis, but an injury forced Weidman to withdraw.

Silva had been dominating the middleweight division before that first meeting with Weidman in July 2013 at UFC 162. But his trademark showboating backfired as he was caught and knocked out.

The rematch brought even more misfortune for Silva, who suffered a horrific leg break while throwing a kick – an injury still remembered as one of the most shocking in UFC history. Now, with both fighters well past their primes, ‘Spider’ is looking for one final shot at redemption.

“For Spiderman, who’s your Venom? For me it’s Chris Weidman. I know you hurt your arm, but I want to do it. Say hi to your family.”
