Anderlecht’s players could be extra motivated for their Champions League clash with Celtic this evening because victory could see them all pocket a handsome bonus.

According to the Daily Record, a win against the Scots will see each of their squad earn £35,000 apiece, with a draw worth £17,500 to them.

With Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain the other two teams in Group B – who beat the Belgian champions 3-0 and the Bhoys 5-0 respectively in the opening round of fixtures – it could be difficult to pick up bonuses in the other games.

So the Purple and White will be viewing this match at home against Brendan Rodgers’ men as a great way to earn some extra cash, even if they are experiencing something of a turmoil at the club currently.

Anderlecht are nine points off leaders Club Brugge in Belgian First Division A in seventh place after just eight games and recently sacked manager Rene Weiler as a result of their poor run of form.

They take on the holders of the Scottish Premiership title at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium this evening at 7.45pm.
