Ex-Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba ended up moving to Porto.

Mbemba left Newcastle to join Porto in the summer transfer window, but he was so close to moving to Anderlecht.
The deal seemed to be all set to go through, but at that last minute it fell through.
And Devroe actually thinks it was for the best that Anderlecht didn’t do the deal with Newcastle.
“We also tried to get [Lazar] Markovic a bit out of nostalgia, and the fans have it for him, but nostalgia is not a good argument to decide, so maybe it’s a good thing that Chancel Mbemba did not come,” he said.
At the time that news was a blow to Newcastle, as it meant that they had to find another buyer for Mbemba.

Thankfully for Rafael Benitez’s side Porto stepped in to snap the central defender up, as he was no longer part of their plans.
Mbemba is yet to make his Porto debut, as he has played a reserve role with them so far.
Newcastle, meanwhile, signed Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez to replace Mbemba.
