Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera has been discussed for a possible swap deal involving Tottenham Hotspur misfit Tanguy Ndombele.

That’s according to The Athletic, who suggest that Herrera has come up in conversations between PSG and Tottenham.

As things stand though, Herrera is believed to be happy in the French capital and isn’t looking to leave.

Additionally, Herrera still loves Manchester United and sees the Red Devils as the only Premier League club he wants to join.

That doesn’t seem likely any time soon, but that stance means Tottenham look unlikely to score the Spaniard.

PSG are interested in Ndomble and have a deal agreed in principle according to Get French Football News.

Swap deals have been mooted though, with Herrera the fourth name suggested in the last few days.

The Times reported last week that Tottenham had asked for Leandro Paredes in exchange for Ndombele.

90Min then suggested that Georginio Wijnaldum and Julian Draxler were open to joining Spurs in a swap deal.

Herrera doesn’t look likely to happen, but you can absolutely see why Antonio Conte may be interested in signing him.

Herrera is known for his intensity and tenacity in midfield, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer noting that Herrera just ‘runs and runs’.

That’s the kind of mentality Conte wants from his teams, and he will likely remember Herrera almost stalking Eden Hazard around the Old Trafford pitch when Chelsea lost 2-0 at Manchester United in 2017.

Herrera is a great team player but is now 32 and will be 33 early into next season, meaning he will almost certainly be in decline soon.

With three goals and two assists in 17 league games this season, Herrera is still shining under Mauricio Pochettino.

PSG would likely want to keep Herrera anyway, and a swap for anybody involving Ndombele now look unlikely.
