Everton could still qualify for Europe after Sunday’s 1-0 win at West Ham United, which could cap off a pretty decent season.
Carlo Ancelotti is taking the club forward, but will need further reinforcements this summer in order to keep the progress going.
The Mirror now report that Ancelotti wants more ‘steel and dynamism’ to his midfield, even after signing Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure last summer.
The man Ancelotti wants is Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who is heading down to the Championship with Fulham following their relegation.
The Cameroonian is likely to be sold this summer following Fulham’s drop, and Ancelotti wants him at Goodison Park in a move that will remind many of the deal for Doucoure.
Watford went down last summer, and Everton swooped in for Doucoure. At the time, the Frenchman was considered an underrated midfielder who had great box-to-box ability; he was strong, tall, rangy and could drive through midfield.
That’s now how Anguissa is considered, almost identically. Only Adama Traore has completed more Premier League dribbles this season than Anguissa.

That ability to ghost past midfielders is very appealing, and Anguissa’s quality was summed up when Fulham signed him in 2018, as Tony Khan branded him ‘world class’.
Anguissa maybe hasn’t lived up to that billing, but he still has great quality on the ball, and Everton fans have to be excited by the prospect of him joining Allan and Doucoure in midfield.
By signing Doucoure last summer, Everton raided a relegated side to give themselves a real presence in midfield – and by signing Anguissa, they would be repeating the trick.
