Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti spoke to Radio Radio about Moise Kean after his disappointing debut campaign at Goodison Park.

The young Italian was signed from Juventus last summer for £25.1 million, (BBC) a whopping fee for a teenager.

Kean was expected to be Everton’s answer to their striker problems, but his adaption time has taken a lot longer than everyone had hoped.

The former Juventus man has scored just once this season in 26 appearances in all competitions.

His poor debut campaign has brought about a ton of speculation regarding his future, with a return to Italy very much on the cards.

Calciomercato claimed two weeks ago that AS Roma were in talks with Everton about sealing a £20 million move for Kean this summer.

However, it now seems like Ancelotti is prepared to give Kean more time to prove himself, and the striker could well remain an Everton player beyond the end of this summer window.

Ancelotti said: “I think Moise Kean has so many qualities. He is a great talent and, as I said before, today’s football must surely be based on talent which must, however, be supported by great character, professionalism and personality.

“Now he is very young. He is a serious boy, available and will surely do well.”

Should Kean stay at Everton?

Kean showed in his final season at Juventus that is capable of scoring goals on a regular basis. The transition from Italian football to the Premier League is never easy, especially for a teenager.

Another season under a manager like Ancelotti will surely give him the boost he needs to succeed, but only he can decide if he wants to stay in England or return to his home country where he was a lot more comfortable.
