Carlo Ancelotti has told the Telegraph that Everton’s players attitudes have changed in training this week.

Everton have come under fire after their latest performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Toffees were battered at Molineux as they lost 3-0, and their commitment was called into question.

Everton looked well off the pace against Wolves, with very few players coming out of the game with any credit.

But Ancelotti insists that Everton have improved in training, and he expects to see a reaction from his side tonight, when they take on Aston Villa.

“Today (Wednesday) in training I have seen a different attitude and I hope that it will be the same in the game,” Ancelotti said.

“To move on from a difficult moment you have to improve the commitment. This is the way. As I said a lot of times, I am quite happy with the effort that the players put on the pitch but there are some moments during a season where you have to improve your commitment, your concentration and your motivation.

“In the last few days we didn’t have a lot of time to train but I have seen a different attitude. The players are more focused and more concentrated. I am sure that it will be a different game (against Aston Villa).”

If Everton’s players do not show more commitment then they could be found out tonight, as Villa are still fighting for their lives.

The claret and blues won against Crystal Palace in their last match to put themselves within four points of safety, with three games to play.

Everton, meanwhile, are in 11th spot – but Southampton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are all breathing down their necks in the standings.
