Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has told the club’s official website that Karim Benzema will play against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League this week.
Benzema has been suffering with injury problems this season, but the French striker will be available for Madrid for the game against Liverpool on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool will take on Madrid at Anfield in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie.
The 35-year-old has made 13 starts in La Liga for Madrid so far this season.
The £278,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker has scored 11 goals and given three assists in those games.
Benzema has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the defending champions so far this campaign.
The striker did not play for Madrid against Osasuna in La Liga at the weekend, but Ancelotti has said that he will be back for the big game against Liverpool.
Karim Benzema available for Real Madrid v Liverpool
Ancelotti said: “We go into the game at Anfield in good shape and with all the confidence in the world.
“Tchouameni had stomach problems. Karim I think will be fine for that game and Kroos is back in training. Carvajal is going to play at Anfield.”

Big boost for Real Madrid
In our view, Karim Benzema being back in action for Real Madrid this week will be a massive boost for Los Blancos and will be a cause for concern for Liverpool.
Yes, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are starting to get their rhythm back, but Madrid always turn up for the big occasions.
Benzema is one of the best strikers in the world who was superb for Madrid in their UEFA Champions League success last season.
