Carlo Ancelotti has revealed what he asks of James Rodriguez every time Everton step out onto the pitch.
The Liverpool Echo quote the ex-Chelsea boss as saying: ‘We have a mutual trust. I know what he can do. I know what he needs, and I think also that James knows what I have and what I need.
‘I simply ask him to show his quality. To put the quality he has on the pitch.’
The Toffees managed to land the Colombia international from Real Madrid in the summer for just £12 million, according to the BBC.
The 29-year-old and Ancelotti know each other extremely well, having worked alongside each other at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and now at Everton.
Since swapping Madrid for Merseyside, Rodriguez has started his career at Goodison Park in exquisite fashion.

The former Porto and Monaco star has netted three goals and set up a further four in just six appearances for the Toffees.
His efforts have helped propel Everton to the top of the Premier League, where they’re currently sat one point above Aston Villa.
Ancelotti doesn’t appear to ask much of the playmaker if his comments are anything to go by.

The Italian merely requests that the talismanic attacker struts his stuff and showcases his quality, something he clearly has in abundance judging by his early form.
For Everton supporters, it must be a dream to see two huge footballing figures doing well at Goodison Park – for their sake, long may it continue.
