Carlo Ancelotti has told Everton’s official website that Richarlison will be available to start against Aston Villa at the weekend, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to play.
Richarlison was only fit enough to come off the bench for Everton against Wolves last night, while Calvert-Lewin did not feature at all.
Everton still managed to pick up an impressive 2-1 win at Molineux, even without their two main attackers, but they weren’t at their flowing best going forward.
However, things should look slightly rosier for Everton at the weekend.
“Richarlison is available, for sure,” Ancelotti said.
“Dominic, I don’t think so but with him we have to pay attention, we have to be careful and when he is ready, he can play.”
Richarlison’s availability is seriously positive news for Everton and he will surely start.
Lucas Digne played down the left for Everton last night, but even Ancelotti admitted afterwards that the Frenchman doesn’t particularly enjoy his more forward-thinking role.
Calvert-Lewin’s absence does continue to be a concern, though.
Everton have a lack of other options up-front when Calvert-Lewin is missing, with Gylfi Sigurdsson and James Rodriguez given the most advanced roles last night.
