According to a new report by 90 Min, Carlo Ancelotti has suggested Real Madrid not to take up their option of bringing back former youth product and Arsenal target, Ivan Fresneda.

On Friday, the same outlet had reported that Mikel Arteta had held direct talks to sign the Spanish right-back, described as ‘brutal’ by Valladolid boss Pacheta (via Mundo Deportivo).

Considered as one of the most prodigious players in his position in the world, Ivan Fresneda seems as if he is the likeliest to end up at Arsenal, due to Carlo Ancelotti vetoing the option to bring him back to Real Madrid.

Interestingly, Liverpool are also ‘monitoring’ the 18-year old, as per the Athletic, who is believed to have a £17.5 million release clause in his contract.

The Gunners are in pole position to win the Premier League title, sitting 5 points above Manchester City at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Throughout the season, the points, eye-test and underlying numbers clearly prove that Arsenal are the best team in the country.

However, the club certainly need to add depth to their squad if they aim to defeat the juggernaut that is Pep Guardiola’s side.

And it seems as if the club may have got an unintentional helping hand in their latest transfer pursuit.

As per a report by 90 Min, Carlo Ancelotti has advised Real Madrid to let Ivan Fresenda move on elsewhere, with Arsenal seemingly keen on his arrival.

Real Madrid had an option in place to bring back the Real Valladolid right-back, as he played in their youth academy.

However, it seems the teenager’s next destination could well be to train at London Colney.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, out of all people may helped Arsenal boost their chances of winning the Premier League by potentially adding Ivan Fresneda to their armoury.
