Frank Lampard is one of the Premier League’s greatest ever players and after making an impact in Major League Soccer, the Chelsea legend has announced that he will leave New York City FC at the end of his contract.

Continue playing
MLS: Conference Semifinals-New York City at Toronto FC
Whilst Lampard has confirmed that he will be leaving New York City FC when his contract finishes in December, the 38-year-old has not stated whether he will continue his career with another club.
Perhaps another side in the MLS? Perhaps a move to another Manchester City sister club such as Melbourne City in the Australian A-League?
Whilst it seems likely that Lampard may hang up his boots on his playing career, his form in the US has proved that he could still offer another side plenty of goals.

Could Lampard become the next Alan Hansen or Gary Neville?
You would imagine that many television stations both here and in the US might offer Lampard the chance to be a pundit.
The former Chelsea and Manchester City star certainly has a wealth of experience of playing in the world’s biggest competitions and could share his accumulated knowledge to football fans.
Coaching

Lampard stated recently in an interview with the BBC that he would like to pursue a coaching career when he retires.
This is a path that few English footballers have pursued in recent years.
It would be interesting to see whether Lampard would get an opportunity to coach at a Premier League side or a team lower in the Football League. Of course this is all dependant on whether he chooses to become a coach.
Return to Chelsea

According to the Guardian, Chelsea are prepared to offer Lampard a role at the club, with the midfielder who was capped 106 times by England getting to choose his position.
The English newspaper claim that Lampard could either take on a coaching role, or become a club ambassador.
