Sunderland are due to take on the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United and Derby County in their next five matches.

Chris Coleman, manager of Sunderland looks on ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between QPR and Sunderland at Loftus Road on March 10, 2018 in London, England.

With Sunderland heading into a crucial stage of their season, we attempt to predict the results of their next five matches.

Derby County (away) – Defeat

Derby are looking to secure their play off spot, and will have their eyes on three points here.

Chris Coleman has promised he will make changes at Sunderland, but it is tough to his side’s revival starting at Pride Park.

Sheffield Wednesday (home) – Win

A general view as fans begin arriving at Hillsborough ahead of the The Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round between Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City at Hillsborough on February 17, 2018 in...

It is always brave to suggest Sunderland will win at the Stadium of Light, but if they have any ambitions of surviving then this is a game where they must take maximum points.

Wednesday are out of form and look destined to finish in mid-table, and Coleman’s side should be eyeing victory here.

Leeds United (away) – Draw

Leeds are one of the few sides in worse form than Sunderland in 2018.

The Whites have won just once in their last eight games, and picking a winner at Elland Road is tough.

Norwich City (home) – Draw

Norwich City Manager Daniel Farke looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich City and Sheffield United at Carrow Road on January 20, 2018 in Norwich, England.

Norwich have endured a disappointing campaign, but they do have the quality to punish Sunderland. This could be too close to call.

Reading (away) – Defeat

Reading will still be hoping Paul Clement’s will be enjoying his honeymoon period at this stage, after taking over from Jaap Stam.

The Royals are in the thick of the relegation battle, but should feel confident of overcoming Sunderland.

Overall: Five points

Even a return of five points would be an improvement from Sunderland, but it still won’t be enough to propel them to safety.
