Harry Redknapp has said to West Ham Fan TV that Craig Dawson was an ‘amazing signing’ by David Moyes.
West Ham brought Dawson in on loan from Watford last summer, to little fan fare.
There were some question marks when Dawson arrived, as he had just been relegated with Watford.
However, he has proven his worth to the Hammers over the past campaign.
Dawson stepped up when required for West Ham, and quickly had his transfer made into a permanent deal.
Dawson is now seen as a genuine first-team option for West Ham, and Redknapp was delighted to see Moyes take a chance on the central defender.
He said: “Craig Dawson, only a British manager could have made that signing. He know he was a proper player and a proper bloke.

“He could do a job, head it, no big thrills but get on with it and score a few goals.
“To take him on loan from Watford where he couldn’t get in the team and bring him in at West Ham, it was an amazing signing.
“He was so important to what West Ham achieved this year.”
Redknapp’s right
Moyes certainly does deserve a lot of credit for picking Dawson out as a potential option.
Many Premier League managers may have questioned the logic of the signing when it occurred, but it has quickly turned into a masterstroke.
West Ham endured their injury issues at the back over the past campaign, but Dawson’s consistently excellent performances ensured that their missing players weren’t missed too badly.
And with Moyes helping West Ham qualify for Europe, Dawson can feel he played an important role in doing so too.
