Chris Sutton is a former Celtic striker, and one suspects that he is not too pleased that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have won the title this season.
Sutton has taken digs at Rangers on several occasions in recent times, and even after the Gers won the Scottish Premiership title earlier this month, the BBC Sport and BT Sport pundit could not help taking a jibe at Steven Gerrard’s side, as shown below.
On Sunday evening, the Englishman took yet another dig at Rangers on BBC 606 (9:18pm, March 21, 2021).
The former Chelsea striker said that even if the Gers go the entire season unbeaten in the league, they will not be considered as Invincibles because they could not win the Scottish League Cup.
Under Brendan Rodgers, who is now the manager of Premier League club Leicester City, Celtic won the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup in 2016-17 without losing a single game.
Rangers have already won the league title this season and are still unbeaten in the league.

Former Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage, who was the co-presenter on the show and works as a pundit for BBC Sport, hit back at Sutton for saying that Rangers will not be classed as Invincibles if they do not lose a league game this season.
Sutton said on BBC 606 (9:18pm, March 21, 2021): “They are not the real Invincibles. They will be Invincibles with an asterisk. Brendan Rodgers, his team won the treble, they were unbeaten all the season. Rangers are already out of the cup so they would be the Invincibles with an asterisk.”
Savage said later in the show (9:30pm, March 21, 2021): “Rangers fans, if you go unbeaten in the league all season, Chris has said it will be Rangers Invincibles with an asterisk. What an absolute idiot.”
