Ruben Amorim has wrapped up his first pre-season tour as Manchester United manager, having taken over from Sporting CP in 2024.
The 40-year-old was brought in during the 2024-25 Premier League season, stepping into a difficult spell at Old Trafford following Erik ten Hag’s departure.

On Saturday, United took on Fiorentina at Old Trafford, finishing their pre-season campaign with a penalty shootout win over the Serie A side.
Amorim used the summer fixtures to rotate his squad, giving opportunities not just to established players but also to several youngsters from the academy.
But there are still questions around some injuries heading into the new season. Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez remain concerns for the manager.
Man Utd post teasing update on injured Lisandro Martinez ahead of the new season
Lisandro Martinez has missed the pre-season tour with Manchester United this summer and the former Ajax ace has been working on his recovery to full fitness.
The Argentine defender, who is currently signed to a contract until 2027, suffered a major setback last season when he picked up a knee ligament injury that kept him out for months.

That injury occurred during United’s loss to Crystal Palace in February and forced him to miss the rest of the campaign.
Since then, Martinez has had successful surgery and returned to Carrington as part of his rehab. The club recently shared a video montage highlighting his road back to fitness, which included some strong words from the player himself.
“You have to fight until the end; it’s the only way. You have to work every day and then the result will come.”
Rio Ferdinand reacts to Lisandro Martinez’s progress after Man Utd share recovery video
According to Sky Sports, Lisandro Martinez was placed on a personalised recovery plan in June to help him get back to fitness without being rushed.

The World Cup winner has become a regular under Ruben Amorim, typically lining up as the left-sided centre-back in United’s back four.
Ferdinand spotted the video and dropped a comment under United’s post. He seemed pleased with how things are going for Martinez, adding: “I think we need a pull-ups gym session!!”
While there’s still no official date for his return, reports suggest Martinez could miss the opening matches of the 2025-26 season as he continues his recovery.
