Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been speaking about Tanguy Ndombele during Spurs’ warm-down on Sunday.

Under Antonio Conte, Spurs have gotten into the habit of running rigorous warm-down sessions after their matches for players who didn’t play or didn’t complete the full 90 minutes.

Ndombele was an unused substitute at the weekend, so he was asked to take part in this post-match session.

Gold stuck around to watch the session after the match and he noted that Ndombele was amongst the quickest players taking part.

What’s been said?

Gold spoke about Ndombele’s pace during the warm-down.

“We watched him (Ndombele) after the game when they were putting them through their paces with what they do now, the fitness drills for those who didn’t play and he was among the fastest. He was up and down, hitting every mark on the reactions tests, twisting, turning, speeding and sprinting and all of that,” Gold said.

Quick

It’s somewhat surprising to hear that Ndombele was looking so quick after the game. After all, he’s never been a player noted for his pace.

There will have been some very fast players taking part in this session as well, with the likes of Bryan Gil and Steven Bergwijn amongst the unused substitutes on Sunday, so this is a rather impressive feat from the Frenchman.

It will be interesting to see whether or not we see Ndombele looking quicker in the coming weeks.
