Queens Park Rangers chairman Amit Bhatia has responded to Southampton forward Charlie Austin’s message on Twitter.

Austin has taken to Twitter to explain his strong interview on BBC Sport following Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Watford at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The 29-year-old forward was not pleased that referee Simon Hooper disallowed his goal in the second half.

Had that goal stood, Mark Hughes’s side would have picked up all three points from the encounter instead of drawing 1-1.

The result means that Southampton are now 17th in the Premier League table with eight points from 12 matches, level on points with third-from-bottom Cardiff City.

Following the match, Austin – who joined Southampton from QPR in January 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4 million – was furious about the decision and expressed his emotions during an interview with BBC Sport.

The former Burnley forward has taken to Twitter to further explain himself, and QPR chairman Bhatia has responded to his message.
