Reported Everton target Denis Bouanga dreams of playing in the World Cup and the Champions League and could leave St Etienne to make his dreams come true, the winger’s brother has told Ouest France.

Suddenly, Pierre-Emerick Aubemyang is no longer the only Gabonese footballer pulling up trees at the top level of European football.

Bouanga has a long way to go before the Arsenal talisman can call him an equal.

But after a superb 2019/20 campaign, the prolific wideman could be about to follow in Aubemeyang’s footsteps by leaving St Etienne in order to climb up the footballing ladder.

BuzzSport claim that Everton are ready to offer £13 million for a man who produced 12 goals and five assists this season.

And while The Toffees cannot offer Bouanga the chance to have the iconic Champions League anthem ringing in his ears, a move to Goodison Park would certainly represent a step in the right direction for a player with big ambitions.

“Obviously, he dreams of playing the World Cup with our country, Gabon. But he also dreams of playing in the Champions League,” Didier Bounga says of his brother.

“I told him it’s time (to leave St Etienne). He has to go to a club that plays the Champions League. Maybe next year, we’ll see.

“The important thing is that he continues to progress like this!”

Everton are not exactly short of talented wingers,

But, amid doubts surrounding the futures of Theo Walcott and Bernard, Bouanga is just one of many forwards who have been linked with a summer move to Goodison Park.

And if he can start breaking the ten-goal barrier on a regular basis, Bouanga could form a thrilling front three with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on Merseyside.
