Tottenham could replace Kyle Walker with Kyle Walker-Peters.
Kyle Walker continues to be linked with a Tottenham Hotspur exit with the London Evening Standard reporting the club will listen to offers for the right-back above £35 million.
His loss would be a blow for Spurs, but it will also simply be a case of ‘next man up’.
Kieran Trippier will take his place in the first team, and as for an understudy, the superbly named Kyle Walker-Peters could benefit.
The 20-year-old has trained with the first team on several occasions and if the path in front of him had not been blocked, he could easily have made his debut by now.
Walker-Peters has represented England at youth level and can play both full-back positions, with the right side his preference.
The young defender played in the same academy side as breakthrough star Harry Winks, and Kyle Walker’s departure could be just the chance he has been waiting for.
At first there really is no need for Spurs to splash out on a replacement for Walker, they can use the money to spend elsewhere.
Kieran Trippier is already proving to be capable of stepping in, and Walker-Peters deserves a shot to become his back-up.
If he can step up successfully, then he will save the club millions in the transfer market, and perhaps one day go on to be worth a huge fee himself.
