Reported Liverpool target Jamal Musiala is “amazingly good for his age” and could become a superstar at Bayern Munich, teammate Joshua Kimmich has told the Bundesliga’s official website.
If you will allow us to make a crude comparison, consider this – Mo Salah was 20 when Basel plucked him from Egyptian football in 2012. Sadio Mane, meanwhile, was 19 when he made his senior league debut for Metz in France.
So the fact Musiala is a regular at the heart of Bayern’s star-studded midfield aged only 17 shouldn’t be underplayed.
What’s more, the England U21 international has already scored three times in 20 games for the reigning European champions, dazzling against Atletico Madrid on the continent and against RB Leipzig on domestic soil.
And, with Liverpool and Manchester United sniffing around, Bayern could be about to make Musiala one of the best-paid teenagers in football history with a staggering £100,000-a-week contract under consideration (Daily Mail).
Kimmich, however, won’t care how much Musiala earns as long as the former Chelsea wonderkid commits his long-term future to the Bavarian giants.
“Jamal is amazingly good for his age. He has good ball control and a clear mind. He always has a positive attitude and tries to learn from us,” says the Germany ace.
“He always plays well. He keeps the ball, has great dribbles and has already scored two or three goals. You can see his potential and, if he plays more often, he will develop and get better and better.
“I hope we, and especially I, can help him to become a great player at Bayern Munich.”
Another Bayern superstar, Serge Gnabry, is equally desperate to see Musiala commit his future to FC Hollywood.
“Ain’t no chance we’re letting that talent go!” Gnabry told the Daily Mail. “He’s a great, great player.”
