Tim Sherwood has claimed that Christian Eriksen is the ‘best I have ever seen’ at Tottenham, as he told Sky Sports (19/02/22 at 1:50 pm).

The former Spurs boss added that Eriksen was an ‘amazing trainer’ and his influence on Harry Kane was ‘unbelievable’.

Eriksen is back on Premier League shores after signing for Brentford during the January transfer window.

It has been two years since he departed Spurs, when they sold him to Inter Milan for £17 million (BBC Sport), and in truth, they still haven’t replaced him.

Sherwood worked with the Denmark international during his brief stint with the first team and he had nothing but positive words to say about the player.

“He really could make the difference (for Brentford),” said Sherwood. “Not only what he delivers on the pitch, but what he delivers in the dressing room.

“The attitude and conduct is magnificent. The best I have ever seen from any professional. Amazing. Amazing trainer.

“But, on and off the pitch, the quality he has. His influence on Harry Kane was unbelievable. He was out there practising his craft all the time.

“You might say, ‘surely you are a footballer, you always need to do that’. They don’t. They waste training days. This boy didn’t waste a training day.”

Eriksen is yet to return to competitive action ever since his scare at Euro 2020.

But the main thing is that he is back in action and edging ever closer to returning to the big stage.

The Dane has already played in a behind-closed-doors friendly and it’s only a matter of time before he’s showcasing his magic once more.

Tottenham will make the short trip to Brentford at the end of April and there’s no doubt that he will get a brilliant reception from the away supporters.
