Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has praised his Gunners teammate Ben White for playing well at right-back, as quoted on Sky Sports.

Former Leeds United loanee White is a central defender by trade, but he has been playing as a right-back this season.

William Saliba has been sensational in central defence so far this season and has established himself alongside Gabriel as a key figure in the team.

White did well at centre-back last season, and his Arsenal teammate Tierney has been impressed by how well the 25-year-old England international is playing at right-back this season.

Tierney said when asked about comparisons between Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk and William Saliba: “I think those similarities are in a lot of players.

“Even when Ben [White] played there last season, I saw them. He was composed on the ball. He could carry it out from defence.

“Obviously Saliba’s got that as well. It’s just different stature and builds and it works so well.

“You see how well he’s been doing at right-back as well and it’s just amazing. It’s a great team to be part of now.”

Quality defender

In our opinion, Ben White is one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is playing extremely well at the moment.

The 25-year-old has been brilliant at right-back, and the way he is playing in his new position makes it looks like he has been doing it for years.

White is very good defensively, and he is also making wonderful runs down the right.

For Arsenal to be successful this season, in our view, White has to stay on top of his game throughout.
