‘Amazing player’: Guimaraes says he’d absolutely thrive if 22-year-old was at Newcastle

Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Bruno Guimaraes has been discussing the idea of playing alongside Erling Haaland.

Guimaraes was tasked with building a so-called ultimate five-a-side team, and there are no prizes for guessing who he chose as his star striker.

Indeed, the Brazilian picked the Premier League’s top scorer to lead the line in his team, and he got a bit carried away when he was daydreaming about the idea of working with Haaland.

The midfielder was full of praise for Haaland, and he even went as far as to say that he would get 20 assists a season if he was working alongside the Manchester City striker.

Guimaraes would love to play with Haaland

The Newcastle ace discussed the behemoth of a striker.

“My team needs someone to score so I will pick Haaland. Haaland yeah. We need someone to score. Haaland is a monster. An amazing player and if I played with him I would finish with 20 assists in the year,” Guimaraes said.

There aren’t many more mouth-watering hypothetical combinations in the Premier League than Erling Haaland and Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian’s ability to do all of the dirty work behind Haaland and find that killer pass combined with the Scandanavian’s movement and finishing ability would be a joy to watch.

Unfortunately, the reality is that these two are likely to be rivals for years to come as Newcastle continue to creep up on Manchester City as they look to establish themselves as England’s top dogs.

Who knows? As the richest club in the world perhaps Newcastle could look at signing Haaland one day, but, of course, that seems wildly unrealistic at this point.
