Bruno Fernandes has labelled one-time Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen as an ‘amazing player’ after Manchester United beat Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

In the summer, Eriksen became a free-agent after leaving Brentford and there was a chance for the 30-year-old to sign for Spurs, but instead, he put pen-to-paper on a deal at Manchester United.

Whilst it was a struggle for Erik ten Hag during his opening few matches, the wins are beginning to stack up at Old Trafford for the former Ajax coach.

That included beating Arsenal 3-1 over the weekend and Eriksen putting on another masterclass, which Tottenham fans sure would have loved given that it was against a familiar opposition for the midfielder.

12 months ago, Eriksen was still recovering from his horrific collapse at Euro 2020 and now he is starting to showcase again why he is one of the best technicians in the country.

Fernandes spoke about his fellow teammate’s quality and how he has shown those traits wherever he has been, including at Spurs, as he told Premier League Productions (04/09/22 at 6:40 pm).

“He has the right timing to be the difference,” said Fernandes. “He can play with both feet. He is an amazing player. He showed that at Tottenham, at Inter and also at Brentford.

“Now, for us, it’s amazing having him on our team.”

SHOULD TOTTENHAM HAVE SIGNED ERIKSEN?

The Denmark international is getting closer to his best, but even then, he is still producing top performances, as he has proved during these past few weeks.

Antonio Conte’s side are crying out for a player of that ilk, well, since Eriksen left them for Inter Milan.

That’s a big reason why Harry Kane drops deeper and deeper because not many behind him can thread that defence-splitting pass on a regular basis.

But rather than Tottenham pushing for Eriksen’s signature this summer, Conte opted to continue with workman-like midfielders, including signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton, after the capture of Rodrigo Bentancur in January.
