Leeds United fans are delighted over reports that Illan Meslier is set to sign a three-year deal with them.
Foot Mercato say that Meslier will join Leeds on a permanent basis from Lorient, after impressing on loan at Elland Road this season.
Meslier stepped into Leeds’ goal at a crucial stage of the season, with Kiko Casilla suspended, and looked very assured despite his tender years.
At the age of 20, there are very high hopes for Meslier at Leeds, and his rumoured permanent arrival has certainly excited Whites fans.
Meslier could well head into next season as Leeds’ number one, with the Whites now back in the Premier League.
It is not yet clear how much business Marcelo Bielsa’s side will want to do, but Meslier has already shown he can perform at the top level.
Leeds took on Arsenal in the FA Cup earlier this season, and Meslier’s excellent display against the Gunners suggested that he is very capable of making the step up.
Meslier actually sat out of Leeds’ game against Derby County at the weekend, with Casilla coming back in to replace him.
