West Ham sacked Bilic following a disastrous start to the season and replaced him with Moyes on a six-month contract.

The Hammers languishing in the Premier League relegation zone a third of the way through the campaign and are facing up to the very real possibility of dropping into the Championship.

Question marks were raised over West Ham’s decision to hand the Scotsman just six months.

Ronald Koeman, Manager of Everton looks on prior to the Premier League match between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park on October 22, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

But fresh reports today explain precisely why after it emerged both Ronald Koeman and – somewhat amazingly – former boss Sam Allardyce were offered the job and rejected it.

According to Dutch media outlet AD, Koeman thanked the club for their interest but said he wanted to rest and take careful consideration over his next career move.

Meanwhile, West Ham fans website KUMB.com claims a club insider told them Allardyce was offered big money to return to East London but ‘rejected it straight away’.

That would make Moyes the seventh choice for the Hammers job given the fact Carlo Ancelotti, Sean Dyche, Paulo Sousa and Marco Silva all reportedly turned down the club’s advances prior to sacking Bilic.

It piles more misery on Hammers fans who have turned on the club’s board and were not happy with the appointment of Moyes.

West Ham face a must-win game at home to Leicester City on Friday night.
