Son Heung-min has told Tottenham Hotspur to continue their recent fine performance from Wednesday night and take it into their weekend Premier League encounter against Everton.

Tottenham secured an important 3-2 win over Frankfurt in the Champions League, with Son netting a brace and now the forward has started they have an ‘amazing, amazing’ and ‘important’ match coming up against Frank Lampard’s side.

The Toffees suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Manchester United last time out, as they sit 12th in the Premier League table.

It hasn’t been performances full of attacking intent from the Merseyside club, but one thing is for sure, they have been defensively sound.

From Everton’s nine matches, they have conceded nine goals – no-one in the league has shipped less. With Tottenham conceding ten.

Nonetheless, Son, who has had an indifferent season so far, will want to put that defence to the test, as he issued this response to the club’s official Twitter account when asked about the weekend game.

“I think it’s really, really important that we take this good result and performance to the weekend,” said Son. “We have another amazing, amazing and important game. See you at the weekend.”

CAN EVERTON CAUSE AN UPSET?

With Lampard in the dugout, the ex-Chelsea man will want to put a spanner in the works and secure a possible win on Saturday against Antonio Conte.

Spurs have suffered only one defeat in the Premier League this season and they are unbeaten on home soil in all competitions.

What perhaps makes matters worse for the Merseyside giants is that they shipped five to this very team back in March.

And now they have a certain Richarlison on their books, so he will be hoping to score against his former club, alongside the usual suspects – Son and Harry Kane – that Everton have to watch out for.
