Speaking to Newcastle’s YouTube channel, Amanda Staveley has been speaking about the club’s future after the PIF takeover.

Staveley and PIF have turned Newcastle into one of the richest clubs in the world overnight and going forward, many expect the Magpies to turn into one of the world’s superpowers.

Whether or not Newcastle can compete for the top honours in the coming years remains to be seen, but it seems as though Staveley thinks the club will have a great chance.

Indeed, while speaking about Eddie Howe’s rise from the lower leagues to the Premier League with Bournemouth, Staveley stated that winning trophies is ‘very easy’ for a club with money and infrastructure.

What’s been said?

Staveley was speaking about Howe’s work with Bournemouth, claiming that she was impressed by the work he could do on a limited budget.

Interestingly, she also claimed that winning trophies is ‘very easy’ if you have a lot of money money, or a lot of infrastructure or a lot of people.

“It’s very easy to win trophies if you have a lot of money or infrastructure or people, but when you are limited by those factors, his success shone out,” Staveley said.

“Not just his success but Jason and his whole team, he has a great team joining him which we’re also very proud to be welcoming.”

Very easy

Staveley says that winning trophies is very easy if you have a lot of money, and with that logic, Newcastle should be competing for the top honours very soon.

Of course, Staveley isn’t directly saying that it will be easy for Newcastle to win trophies, but the fact that she believes winning silverware is very easy with a lot of money behind you just gives an element of insight into how she views the competitive landscape in English football.

Whether or not Newcastle do find it easy to win trophies in the coming years remains to be seen, but these comments alongside the Magpies’ financial muscle seem to suggest that Staveley is confident of bringing success to Tyneside.
