Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be interested in signing Amadou Diawara in the January transfer window.

According to Calcio Napoli 24, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Amadou Diawara from Napoli in January and if they were to get a deal over the line, then it would be an impressive statement of intent.

Diawara may have only played a rotational role at Napoli this season, but the midfielder has shown huge promise when he has started.

Napoli rate Diawara highly, and rejected a £36 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur for the youngster in the summer, as reported by TalkSPORT.

With the Italian side turning that sort of money down just months ago, Wolves would surely be forced to break their club record fee if they were to get a deal done.

And for Nuno’s side to be investing so much money in January would really prove their ambition.

Wolves have already made a bright start to the season, and avoiding relegation looks almost guaranteed already.

Wolves have made great strides forward, and competing for a top half spot would surely make most newly promoted side’s content.

But if Wolves are to push to improve their squad in January then they will really prove they mean business, and Diawara should be seen as a potentially exciting addition for the new year.
