Tottenham Hotspur are again being linked with Napoli’s Amadou Diawara.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur remain in the race for Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara, with a €50million (£43.5million) asking price believed to be on his head.
Spurs are claimed to have offered €38million (£33million) for Diawara in the summer, and with Wolverhampton Wanderers now entering the race, Tottenham are again being mentioned as a potential destination for the Guinean.
Diawara, 21, has been highly rated since his days with Bologna, where his impressive displays earned him a 2016 move to Napoli, where his experience has been somewhat up and down so far.
The midfielder has continued to show promise, but has started just 19 Serie A games in over two years, having failed to push himself up the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri and now Carlo Ancelotti.
Diawara could now move on in January, and if Spurs are still keen, then the young midfielder should be demanding that Napoli let him go in order to make the move to North London in 2019.
Spurs are searching for a successor to Mousa Dembele in their engine room, meaning a player with technical ability and the drive to go through the gears in midfield is needed – attributes that Diawara possesses.

With Dembele out of contract at the end of the season and likely to leave, Diawara could be given a starring role that his talent deserves, rather than being sat on the sidelines at Napoli wondering ‘what if’.
Wolves are an appealing prospect given their exciting project, but with Spurs offering a top four race and regular European football, they should be the top offer on the table for Diawara – and if Napoli attempt to stand in his way again, he should be pushing for a move to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side and become a star under a manager known for developing young players.
