West Ham United have made two quality acquisitions in the form of Andre Ayew and Arthur Masuaku in the past few days.
Andre Ayew became West Ham’s record signing on Monday
West Ham United completed the signing of Andre Ayew from Swansea City on Monday for a club record fee of £20.5 million.
The Hammers’ pursuit of many high-profile striker targets has been well documented over the summer, and even though Ayew cannot be classed as an out-and-out striker, his arrival at the club was met with relief from the majority of West Ham fans after having had to endure so many disappointments this summer.
Arthur Masuaku
The East London club made another useful squad addition this week with the signing of Arthur Masuaku from Olympiacos for a fee believed to be in the region of £6.2 million.
With the long-term injury suffered by first choice left-back Aaron Cresswell during pre-season, Masuaku’s arrival was much needed, and he could prove to be a very important signing for the Hammers.
Hammers fans will be hoping that Andre Ayew proves to be a snip at £20 million
West Ham uploaded a behind the scenes video of Ayew and Masuaku’s first training session with the club to their YouTube account via their official Twitter page, as the pair were put through their paces alongside the likes of Dimitri Payet:
Hammers fans will be pleased to see the new singings looking fit and ready for the new season.
They face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League opener on Monday August 15.
