Tottenham Hotspur are currently on tour in Australia and face games against Juventus and Atletico Madrid over the next few days.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s game against Juventus, manager Mauricio Pochettino explained how the club’s tour of Australia is a chance for Spurs’ youngsters to prove themselves.
Pochettino is slowly but surely building a young, hungry and incredibly capable squad who are expected to compete for major honours this season, and he revealed how those young up-and-coming stars need to show what they are made of in Australia, as quoted by Tottenham’s official Twitter page.

“It’s a great opportunity for the young players here to show their character and personality against Atletico and Juventus,” he said.
The former Southampton boss is notorious for giving young players the opportunity to prove their worth, and his high intensity pressing game goes hand in hand with having a younger squad of players to choose from, so it makes sense for him to develop youngsters rather than buy the finished article.
The Argentine also explained what the primary objective of the tour is, with the opening weekend of Premier League fixtures fast approaching.
“It doesn’t matter who we play, it’s all about our physical condition & getting ready for Everton,” he added.
Spurs fans will be hoping their side start the season in better form than they did this time last year, when Pochettino’s men managed only three points from their opening four games.
Tottenham kick off their campaign against Everton at Goodison Park on August 13.
