Arkadiusz Milik is prolific for his club and West Ham United should consider a move for the Ajax forward.
Ajax and Poland star Arkadiusz Milik
West Ham United’s hunt for a new striker is becoming increasingly more frustrating by the day.
The club continue to suffer disappointment in their search for a world-class star, with co-chairman David Sullivan citing their lack of Champions League football as a reason why they are being rejected by so many top talents (West Ham’s official website).
As a result the East London club should consider turning their attention to Ajax and Poland forward Arkadiusz Milik.
Th 22-year-old put in a string of decent performances for his country during Euro 2016 that brought him to the attention of many clubs across Europe. He scored 21 goals in 31 Eredivisie outings for Ajax last term, and his overall tally of 37 goals in 66 appearances during his time in Holland is evidence of his class.
Ajax’s Arkadiusz Milik in action
Milik would seem a far better all-round purchase than West Ham’s other reported target Simone Zaza (The Daily Mail). He is three years younger and possesses more pace than the Italian.
The Poland international is very strong in the air and is also far more composed in front of goal than the Juventus striker.
Juventus’ Simone Zaza is another reported West Ham target
The Polish international would be the perfect strike partner for Andy Carroll in a conventional 4-4-2 formation, or if Hammers boss Slaven Bilic chooses to stick to his more accustomed 4-2-3-1, Milik has the ability to play just behind the main striker, where he can utilise his fantastic vision and range of passing to full effect.
The Ajax star is at an age where he has so much potential yet to fulfil, and Bilic is the kind of manager who could bring the best out in him.
The West Ham hierarchy should seriously consider a move for Milik, and in doing so they could turn around the club’s flagging transfer window fortunes.
Milk would be a fantastic signing for West Ham
