Watford’s Jurado has been linked with a move away from the club, with Espanyol said to be interested in his signature.
Watford’s Jose Jurado is highly rated by his former boss Quique Sanchez Flores
Spanish sports outlet AS is reporting that new Espanyol boss Quique Sanchez Flores wants former player José Manuel Jurado to join him in Spain.
Jurado joined the Hornets from Spartak Moscow last summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £7.5 million, and AS claim that he could be allowed to leave Vicarage Road for much less than they paid for him.
Quique Sanchez Flores is believed to be interested in signing Jurado
Jurado played 27 times for Watford in last season’s Premier League, but failed to register a goal or an assist. He must have something about his game that Sanchez Flores likes, however, with AS claiming that the Spaniard sees him as his ideal midfield organiser.
Watford’s Jose Jurado is a reported target for Espanyol
The news outlet claims that Jurado is no longer wanted by Watford, so much so that they are prepared to make a loss with the sale of the player, so a transfer to Espanyol would seem to suit all parties involved.
Sanchez Flores was unceremoniously sacked from his Hornets post after guiding the club to a 13th place finish in the Premier League and a FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
It would be little surprise if he was to be successful at Espanyol, and he obviously feels that he will be helped in his quest by signing Watford star Jurado.
