Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy is reportedly wanted by Espanyol.
Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy warms up
The Mirror are reporting that Spanish side Espanyol want to take Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy on a season-long loan.
The 31-year-old France international moved to the Gunners from Newcastle United two years ago, but following an injury he quickly fell out of favour at the Emirates and has subsequently fallen behind Hector Bellerin in the right-back pecking order.

The Mirror claim that after leaking eight goals in their opening two games, Espanyol boss Quique Sánchez Flores is desperate to bolster his defensive options, and sees Debuchy as the ideal acquisition.
Debuchy has only made 12 Premier League appearances for the Gunners during his time at the club, and at his age, the opportunity to play first-team football will be key in his decision as to where he plays this season.

Espanyol have struggled at the start of the La Liga season with a win and a draw in their opening two games, so the addition of someone with Debuchy’s class and experience would be a much needed boost.
The report claims that one potential snag to the deal could be the fact that Debuchy is carrying a calf problem, but the severity of the injury is unclear at present.
