Besiktas are eyeing a swoop for Sunderland’s Jeremain Lens as they look to replace the departed Gokhan Tore.
Turkish media outlet Sporx suggest that Besiktas are interested in signing Sunderland attacker Jeremain Lens as a replacement for Gokhan Tore who moved to West Ham United on a season-long loan.
The 28-year-old Holland international only moved to Sunderland last summer for a fee of around £8 million, but he failed to establish himself as a first-team regular, making only 14 Premier League starts.
Sporx go on to report that Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes is concerned by his side’s shortage of attacking wide players and sees Lens as the ideal replacement for Tore.

Whether Black Cats boss David Moyes would entertain the sale of Lens is debatable, especially without having a direct replacement lined up.
The former Dynamo Kiev man’s contract at the Stadium of Light does not expire until the summer of 2019, so if they were to contemplate selling the Dutchman, they would surely expect to receive a fee at least similar to what they paid to secure his services last summer.
If any kind of deal is to come to fruition, Sunderland will want to get it done quickly, with the start of the new Premier League season just 48 hours away.
The Black Cats face a tricky trip to Manchester City on Saturday for their Premier League opener and Moyes will want a full compliment of players from which to select his starting line-up.
