Saido Berahino looks set to leave West Bromwich Albion this summer.
Saido Berahino looks suffered a miserable 2015/16 campaign at West Brom
The Daily Mail are reporting that Stoke City have begun talks with West Bromwich Albion over a proposed £5 million move for Saido Berahino.
Berahino has been at the centre of numerous transfer sagas over the past two seasons, with the Baggies turning down a £20 million offer from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
How they must be wishing they could turn back time and accept that offer now. With just one year remaining on his current deal, Berahino’s value has fallen dramatically, along with his reputation. He was used sparingly last season and made only 17 Premier League starts.
His tally of seven goals in 33 appearances was symbolic of the 22-year-old’s fall from grace, after he managed 20 goals the season before.
Berahino is a reported transfer target of Stoke City
Berahino moving away from The Hawthorns would seem to be beneficial for both club and player. The Daily Mail claim that West Brom are prepared to cash in on the youngster, who once promised so much in a Baggies shirt.
Despite Berahino’s previous misdemeanours, he would still represent fantastic value for £5 million. The Potters would be getting a proven Premier League goalscorer, with incredible amounts of potential.

Will he continue to waste his undoubted talent? If a move to the Britannia Stadium comes to fruition, Berahino would at least be starting with a clean slate, and possibly be in a better place mentally to handle the high expectations placed upon him.
