Harry Redknapp believes the future is bright for West Ham
Former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp claims that the Hammers have the potential to overtake the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool and become the biggest club in England, as reported by the Independent.
The East London outfit’s move to their new 60,000 capacity stadium has coincided with greater financial power due to increased gate receipts, and expectation levels are now at an all-time high.
Redknapp spoke to the Independent, and offered his opinion on the Hammers’ standing within the game:

“If you look at the teams in the Premier League it could be tough, but in the long term I think it’s a great move for the club. It’s going to take them onto another level. 60,000-odd people every week at the stadium … what is the value of West Ham now? It’s gone on to a completely different level. It can be massive.”
Slaven Bilic’s men have made a steady, if not spectacular, start to their Premier League campaign with a win and a loss from their opening two games, and the former Tottenham Hotspur boss believes the sky is the limit for the Hammers in the future:
“I think the future looks fantastic. If the owners decide to sell, there will be people wanting to buy West Ham, for sure. So when they do sell and suddenly we get somebody coming from China, or from somewhere in Asia, like they did at Manchester City, it could be the biggest club in England.”

The Hammers’ new stadium seems to have divided opinion amongst the fanbase, but like any stadium move, it will take time for the players to come to terms with the unfamiliar surroundings, and there was always bound to be a so-called ‘settling in period’.
West Ham face Manchester City on Sunday as they look to build on last weekend’s home victory against Bournemouth, and begin their ascension up the Premier League table.
