Enner Valencia is reportedly close to making his switch from West Ham to Lazio.
West Ham’s Enner Valencia
Italian news outlet Gazetta dello Sport are reporting that West Ham United have finally accepted an offer from Lazio for their 26-year-old forward Enner Valencia.
The Italian giants have reportedly agreed a loan fee of £1.3 million for the Ecuadorian, with a further option to buy Valencia for £8.7 million next summer.
Valencia failed to live up to expectations during his time at West Ham
The Hammers signed Valencia in the summer of 2014 following on from his impressive showings for his country in the World Cup, but he has failed to live up to expectations during his time in East London.
Gazzetta dello Sport go on to report that Valencia could complete his switch to the Italian capital over the weekend.
The former Pachuca hitman’s time in London has been hampered by injuries and he has managed only 10 goals in 61 appearances for West Ham.
West Hams’s Enner Valencia could be on the verge of a switch to Lazio
If a move does eventually come to fruition, it is one that most Hammers fans will not be too dis-pleased about. Although Valencia showcased his talent on occasion, he has never showed enough consistency or desire to make it as a real fans favourite.
Maybe Serie A will be the place where Valencia’s true talent will come to the fore.
If a move to Lazio comes to fruition, could Valencia finally reach his potential in Serie A?
