Stoke City signed Wilfried Bony on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Stoke City manager Mark Hughes explained how season-long loan signing Wilfried Bony needs regular first-team football to rediscover his goalscoring form, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international moved to Manchester City from Swansea City in January 2015, but struggled to establish himself at the Etihad, making only 15 Premier League starts, and scoring just 10 goals in a total of 46 appearances for the Citizens.
Bony moved to the Britannia Stadium on transfer deadline day, and Hughes told reporters how he can return to his best, as quoted by Sky Sports:
Wilfried Bony looks dejected
“He was coming on as sub at Manchester City and maybe that affected him because prior to that, he was outstanding at Swansea. We are very encouraged by what we’ve seen at Swansea and there’s no reason he can’t replicate that here.”
Bony’s record at the Liberty Stadium makes far more impressive reading, with a return of 25 goals in 54 league outings for the Swans.
Hughes outlined how he hopes Bony shows that kind of form for his Stoke side, and that his presence in the team could make all the difference this season, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“It’s really exciting not only for Wilfried but for the team as well. We have been building moves that have petered out and hopefully Wilfried will address that.”
Stoke face a tough challenge in their return to Premier League action as they host Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow in a 3pm kick-off.
