Balotelli has scored just one Premier League goal for the Reds since his move to Anfield two years ago, and spent the entirety of last season on loan at Serie A outfit AC Milan, where he once again failed to impress with just one league goal.

He has been heavily touted with an exit from Liverpool throughout the summer, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s high intensity pressing philosophy not suited to the laid-back style of Balotelli, but nobody would have predicted a move to the blue half of Merseyside.

SkyBet list Wolverhampton Wanderers as 7/1 second favourites in the running to sign Balotelli, just ahead of Italian side Bologna at 8/1.
Everton have been in the market for a striker all summer long, but it is debatable whether a player with Balotelli’s history of off-field antics and lack of team-work on the pitch will appeal to Ronald Koeman.
