Liverpool have been made second favourites to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, although Everton remain clear favourites for his signature.
Manchester City’s Joe Hart
Bookmakers SkyBet have cut the odds on Liverpool signing Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart and made them second favourites at 7/1.
The Reds’ fierce rivals Everton remain SkyBet‘s favourites in the race to obtain the 29-year-old’s signature at 7/5.
Joe Hart saves has been a fantastic servant for Man City
Hart was left out of City’s opening Premier League game at home to Sunderland, and speculation began to mount in the aftermath of the match regarding the player’s future.
Jurgen Klopp has already added two goalkeepers to his squad over the summer with the signings of Loris Karius and Alex Manninger, although the former picked up a hand injury whilst on the Reds’ pre-season tour of the United States, and could face up to 10-weeks on the sidelines.
Liverpool’s Loris Karius is facing a lengthly spell on the sidelines
If Hart is readily available, his quality is of such that it would be hard for a club like Liverpool to turn down the opportunity to bring him to the club, despite the numbers they already have in the goalkeeping department.
Much wil depend on whether Pep Guardiola’s decision to start Willy Caballero was purely experimental, or if he genuinely sees the Argentine as his first-choice goalkeeper.
Can Joe Hart force his way back into Guardiola’s plans?
